LIKE MANY PEOPLE BEFORE ME, AND MANY AFTER ME, WE TEND TO GO INTO WORK WORLD THINKING OF MAKING A DIFFERENCE, IDEALISM OF REWARDS, AND TRYING TO PROVE OURSELVES. IF THOSE ASPIRATIONS WORK AND HAVE ALREADY WORKED FOR YOU, THEN MY WORDS ARE NO USE TO YOU. HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE AT THE POINT OF DISILLUSION AND YOU FEEL STUCK, THEN READ MY WORDS VERY CAREFULLY, FOR THEY ARE BUT A FEW.

BY NOW YOU MUST HAVE REALISED THAT, THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE IN THE JOB PLACE. THOSE WHOM ACTUALLY DO THE WORK, AND THOSE WHOM TAKE THE CREDIT AND ARE CONSEQUENTLY REWARDED. STRANGE AS IT MAY SEEM, I REALLY ADVISE YOU TO BE IN THE FIRST CATEGORY FOR ONE SIMPLE BUT IMPORTANT REASON, AND THAT IS; COMPETITION IS FAR LESS THAN IN THE OTHER CATEGORY MAKING LIFE MORE BEARABLE.

NOW HAVING SAID THAT, YOUR NEXT STEP SHOULD ALWAYS BE, TO EXPRESS ENTHUSIASM FOR WORK VERBALLY, BUT ALWAYS MOVE ASIDE WHENEVER YOU CAN, AND NEVER VOLUNTEER, ALLOWING SOMEONE ELSE TO DO THE WORK, WHILE YOU REAMAIN ALWAYS UNOBTRUSIVE.

NOW ONCE YOU MANAGE THAT, REMEMBER ALWAYS TO SAY THAT THE WORK OF YOUR COLLEAGUES IS 100% WELL DONE, BECAUSE AS USUAL, THE REWARDS FOR WELL DONE WORK, IS MORE WORK.
